Depression

Understanding the difference between depression and sadness is crucial.

Can you recall a time when you felt sad but eventually managed to shake it off and continue with your daily activities? You might have cried and felt hurt, but those feelings eventually passed. This experience is not depression; it is simply sadness, which does not impair our ability to function.

In contrast, if you have experienced a prolonged period of feeling deeply unmotivated and exhausted, along with a pervasive negative outlook on life that lasts for at least two weeks, that is depression.

Depression can lead to feelings of worthlessness and emptiness, draining your energy and leaving you in a state of emotional numbness. It can hinder your ability to function and cloud your perspective, making it difficult to see the positive aspects of life.
