About Me

I believe each person’s individual experiences are vital to the therapy journey. With that in mind, I invite you to utilize your personal experiences and natural creativity as the primary tools to find positive, quick, and long-lasting solutions to problems.

I embrace cultural diversity and truly respect people’s differences. People of all genders, sexualities, ethnicities, religious affiliations, cultural/social/political backgrounds will find a friendly and warm atmosphere when coming to Good Start Therapy.

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, I enjoy the holistic and integrative approaches to psychotherapy. The holistic view helps us become more awake and balanced in our daily life and in tune with our emotions, thoughts, physical experiences, and spiritual senses. The integrative view of psychotherapy blends clinical interventions of various psychotherapy schools and looks at each individual as unique. It yields fulfilling results and opens doors to positive and effective life changes.

I have been trained to work with adults struggling with mood changes, anger, anxiety, stress, trauma, and depression.

It is a great honor for me to be a graduate of Goddard College, in Vermont, where I graduated with a Master’s Degree in Psychology and Counseling. I also hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on Crisis Intervention from the Empire State College, State University of New York.

Recently, I have completed a one-year Post-Master’s Continuing Education Program in Advanced Clinical Practice at NYU.

On a special note, I feel fortunate for having attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in NYC where I completed a two-year Certificate Program in Acting for Theater.

It was with great pleasure to have had the opportunity to work for The Door, a Center of Alternatives, in the Supportive Housing Program for the mentally challenged young adults ages 18-24 for six years in clinical and management roles.

I have worked for some substance use treatment centers, private psychotherapy clinics, and homeless shelters in New York and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

I provide therapy in English and Portuguese.
